• What is critical thinking?

Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. Being a critical thinker, you allow yourself to step back to see things from a broader perspective, not accepting the traditions of, "This is how we always do it." Critical thinkers are curious. It's also a way to focus on continually upgrading your knowledge and engage in independent self-learning. Critical thinking is not just about what you believe but about analyzing and evaluating facts to form a judgment or opinion.


• Why is it important?

Critical thinking is essential because it allows you to analyze information deliberately to make better judgments and decisions while using logic and creativity to draw conclusions and understand things from a broader perspective. This skill is used when presented with difficult problems or making important decisions.

• Why do you think they are critical thinkers?

Oprah's influence over her audience/fan base is an intricate part of her success as a critical thinker. She uses data to facilitate her decisions, but she is also genuinely curious about the world and the people around her. She understands what her followers are interested in by researching what information is relevant and meaningful to gain their continued support to her brand and mission. Oprah also demonstrates intellectual humility by being open to other people's viewpoints and challenging her own beliefs when necessary.

I completely agree with your description of Oprah Winfrey being a great critical thinker. She is very curious about the world and certainly asks the tough questions that get us thinking. She is open to other viewpoints and seems to challenge her own beliefs. Something that I strive to do in my own life.

Regarding the Critical thinking quiz, I scored -21/30. Some of the questions were debatable. But, I accept my score.
