Why did you choose this topic?
My project considers on improved utilization of the participant satisfaction data that we receive monthly. I chose this area because it is a process that I am responsible for. Additionally, I entered the field of social services to work directly with individuals and work in partnership and having moved into a more administrative/operational role over the past 2 years, my work has been somewhat removed from directly impacting participants. By identifying ways in which participant feedback is incorporated into program practices I feel a greater connection to my work.
What do you hope to accomplish?
I hope that by enhancing the ways in which participant feedback is communicated to staff, program services will be responsive to participant concerns, which will result in an overall improvement in participant satisfaction.
What additional questions might you consider as you build your project?
The article touches on the idea of what I hope my project will produce and what the output will look like, but more firmly, I will want to consider how my I will measure the projects outcomes, metrics, and overall impact. While the article references an investment cost, it does not address the potential return on investment, which I think requires consideration when determining the need for a potential project and then measuring its success.
Choose one or two of the approaches and do a bit more research to determine what might be most applicable to your project.
In terms of methodologies to innovation, I feel that my project will take on aspects of incremental innovation, as we already have processes in place to capture participant feedback. I am interested in further expanding the ways in which we consider this data and improve its use towards the improvement of our practice and services. Additionally, I will want to mindful of the integrative and customer-centric approaches as discussed in the article, as I consider how to best accommodate my recommendations into the existing established processes for obtaining and sharing participant feedback.
