Lesson # 2
Post your answers to the following questions:
Salesforce: How do we use it as a tool?
It is used as a tool for tracking possibilities and potential, as well as tracking what could be planned for and what is achieved. It also lends itself to tracking lost possibilities. It is used as a tool for revenue and contract projections and what actually comes to fruition. It is the software that info is put into, and data is analyzed, arranged, and able to be presented in a manner that is more easily analyzed or interpreted.
What is a "pipeline" and how might it impact your work?
The “pipeline” is what is being sought after, whether it is in process or a potential. It is a way to organize potential contracts/grants so that all info is collected in one place, allowing for people needing to know, to be aware of potentials or lack of potentials. It is the information entered into Salesforce, that data keeper/tracker.
It impacts my work, as it is always something to keep in the back of my mind. As I am connecting with others or receiving info about possible grants/revenue streams, would the potential be something serious enough to go after, and therefore track?
What did the pipeline report tell you?
From a broad perspective, the report tells me what each individual company is reporting as potential, the status of the potential, and the essential wins and losses of each.
C. Review the two Metrics that Matter (MTM) Reports (To be Emailed).
Post your answers to the following questions:
What surprised you?
I think what surprised me the most is, that despite the lower number of client’s served in the 2021 report, there was a similar number of job placements during that same year, with higher 30-, 90-, and 180-day retention rates. Despite a significantly lower number of overall staff between the reports and the impacts of the pandemic, reported numbers were consistent from the two reports in terms of job placements.
What trends do you see?
In terms of trends, I am seeing where some metrics (wellness, health and stability, amplification, etc) are gaining more attention in the 2021 report, obviously since more emphasis has started to be placed on them, perhaps. Also, now in 2021, certification types are being tracked and reported on, as this very obviously fits into expanding one of the 5 Bold Goals. There is much more of an obvious social media presence documented in the 2021 report, as well.
Are there any trends that cause you concern?
No trends were of real concern to me, considering the changes in the last 16 months. One trend that I would be interested in continuing to follow more closely is the data regarding staff’s length of service with the company, as this could speak to staff’s happiness with their jobs, with the company in general. Additionally, the data regarding Participant and Family Satisfaction survey results is new in 2021 and seems like valuable information to check in on in the future.
How will you use MTM in your own work?
MTM allows me to compare my program specific metrics to the larger organization, allowing me to see how my program fits into trends. It provides an ability for me to compare areas that my program might need to improve upon and target areas that may be under reported.
