C. - Reflect on what you have learned to date. How did General Marshall, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Martin Luther King, Jr. draw upon their strengths to overcome adversity?
A: General Marshall - General Marshall is regarded as one of the best generals to ever serve and he eventually went on to win a Nobel Peace Prize. He had strong leadership qualities that helped him to become a crucial force in helping the Allies win. He had to the ability to work others regardless of their rank, he wasn't afraid to say no to powerful people, he had a deep sense of honor, and cared very deeply those under his command. He had a voice that was to be heard and he used his platform to empower those around them.
Eleanor Roosevelt - Her strengths as a leader were apparent from a young age. She was fiercely determined to any goal that she set her mind to and she fought for the rights of those around her regardless of race or gender. She was very open minded and made it a point to take in every point of view when she was dealing with others. She was able to form a vision and make those around her believe in that vision. She was a fantastic public speaker and a great writer which helped her to get her message across to the people. She made it a point to make everyone around her feel valued.
Martin Luther King, Jr - His ability to communicate was essential to his success as a leader. He was very determined in his beliefs and he was able to use words to his advantage in order to change the minds of those around them. He was able to see the value in those around him and made others recognize that value as well. His ability to make others see and belief in his vision for the future helped him to create a movement that would go down in history.
