A. My PDSA involved creating a brief presentation discussing the benefits derived from Community Work Services creating an Advisory Board
B. Post the results on the Discussion Board and be prepared to discuss your PDSA in class for 3 minutes MAXIMUM.
The hypothesis underlying my PDSA was that in order to go forward with creation of the Advisory Council for Community Work Services approval would be required f, first from our Executive Director Craig Stenning and second from the CWS Board of Directors. In order to obtain Mr. Stenning’s initial approval I prepared a brief presentation reviewing the costs and benefits of establishing the Advisory Board. The initial decision point was based on a yes/no form Mr. Stenning. A no would require a reworking of the presentation. A yes would be a successful result. Mr. Stenning approved the presentation and will recommend approval at the Board’s next meeting on May 19th. There were two minor unpredicted results. First, I had anticipated that Mr. Stenning would ask me to present the concept. He choose to do it himself. He also choose to change the name from Advisory Board to Advisory Council.

Hi Gregg, Interesting turn of events with the renaming to Advisory Council and with Mr. Stenning deciding to present himself!
I'm wondering... 1. How did you measure the success of your PDSA? 2. What might your 2nd cycle look like?

Yes, it was an interesting development. I'm not sure if he was putting his stamp on the concept or if it was simply change for change for change sake. The 2nd step would involve a bit of an evolution.. Since the initial PDSA involved getting initial approval and we achieved success in the first iteration the next PDSA would involve implementation. Perhaps drafting various approach letters and testing them on sample candidates before adopting one to utilize as a general approach.
