A.Ask Refer to the assessment that you invited your colleagues to fill out. What were some areas where there were opportunities for your growth? How might the feedback you were given inform your stretch assignment work? Please make a note of a few areas where you would like to improve based on your own assessment of your skills and those of your colleagues. Work with your mentor, and share your thoughts on the discussion board.
Ensure everyone is contributing at meetings. Take time to listen and absorb everyone’s points of view. I need to run ideas past others, test more things out with others before I run with them.
B. How might being vulnerable improve YOUR leadership? In what areas do you hold yourself back because of a fear? What will you do to overcome that fear?
Vulnerability in itself is a challenge and can open up connections and communication.
I think there is also potentially something else that has come up that makes me feel uncomfortable. I hate taking up senior management time, I hate the thought of someone thinking what I am proposing is a waste of time or there is no need to run it past them. I have a lot of experience and trust so tend just to get on with things. I prefer to try a pilot and if it works roll with it. I don’t tend to shout about the different improvements I have made out with my peers as I get embarrassed by it. As Barry said, its hard to praise me as I tend to be disbelieving or embarrassed, defensive by it. I see it as just doing my job.

I thought I collaborated more than I do (do this a lot with direct team and shared best practice with sub-contractors and other regions). However, I don’t tend to consistently do this collaboratively.
I worry that tasks will not be completed on time and projects and others will be let down as a consequence. I need to really slow the pace down to listen and really co-create and collaborate with others more. There will be real benefit for me, them and the business as a whole.
What will you do to overcome that fear? Trust that people will come good and if they are not trust I have the skills to get things done if need be.

Considering going to a few senior managers with an idea of a new customer engagement strategy to get their feedback before pitching to the senior leadership team.
At this stage concerned about the timescales and resource to achieve this by module end but I think a small PDSA is entirely possible.
