o What is the precise message you tried to communicate?
o That this program will provide new economic opportunity for 1000’s of Florida veterans and will have immediate impact in jobs and dollars
o What were the factors you considered while crafting your message?
o Effective press releases, in my opinion, must be short and pointed. Several 100 words at most. They must list a point of contact and a means to gather further information if interested.
o Was it difficult to craft the message? Why or why not?
o It was not difficult. I have written such types of releases before. The information necessary was readily presented in the assignment.
o What are the risks in a poorly crafted press release? What are the benefits of a well-crafted press release?
o The greatest risk in a poorly written press release is that it is first simply ignored. A bad press release maybe like no press release. It simply disappears. Potentially worse is a press release that gives out incorrect or incomplete information and negatively impacts potential clients or community based organizations.
