B. Assignment Overview: The development and delivery of a message during a time of crisis is critical. There are many considerations such as the size and make‐up of the group hearing the message, for example. Read the scenario below and respond to C and D on the Discussion Board.

MODULE 3 SCENARIO: Delivering Complicated Messages
You are the Senior Director at one of The Fedcap Group companies and you are responsible for developing a communication related to unexpected budget cuts to a few city funded contracts, which is the result of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. These budget reductions will inevitably result in staff layoffs in the next few months, as well as a reduction in service delivery offerings, which are all yet to be determined.
Think about what kind of information and messages you want to convey to managers, staff, and program participants and the method(s) of your communication. Consider how much information to share at this stage and the tone of your message, as well as whether you want to describe any short-term or long-term steps in planning.
Craft your message to Staff:
• What is the core message for the first communication?
• What are secondary messages for the first communication?
• What is the core message for the second communication?
• What are secondary messages for the second communication?
• What are the talking points for staff to convey if asked questions by program participants?
Craft your message to program participants:
• What is the core message?
• Are there any secondary messages?
Vehicle and Frequency of Communication:
• How frequently would you communicate to staff?
• What vehicles would you use for communication? (e-mail, intranet, webinars, phone conferences)
Ancillary Communication Tools:
• Are there any additional resources you would include/develop for staff?

--to build your ability to ask for and receive authentic feedback
--to model best practices for giving and receiving feedback
Choose three (or more) individuals whose feedback you value and with whom you interact on a regular basis—including:
-Your supervisor
-A direct report (if applicable)
-A colleague
1. Invite your assessors to fill out the feedback form attached in this thread.
2. Set up a one-on-one meeting with them to go over their feedback.
3. Report to your mentor about the process, the results, and your plans moving forward to address any improvement areas.
4. Be prepared to discuss the process in Class 1 of the Innovation module
